'The Devoted' goes on Hamburg screen

Iranian short film 'The Devoted' has gone on screen at the 34th edition of the Hamburg International Short Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Maryam Modarres, the Iranian title went on screen at the Short Fiction section of the German event on June 6, 8 and 9, 2018.

The 2-minute short film depicts a young man who is praying that if it is something that distracts his attention from God, may God remove it. Then an angel comes to take "it" away?

Founded in 1985, the Hamburg International Short Film Festival has been celebrating short films as an independent art form, while offering an opportunity for film makers from all over the world to get in touch with an eager audience and with each other.

Its International Competition mirrors current global aesthetic tendencies and narrative structures. It has other sections, including the German Competition, the experimental section, the Deframed Competition (formerly known as NoBudget), the Three Minute Quickie and a section for children

The 34th edition of the Hamburg International Short Film Festival was held June 5-11, 2018, in Germany.
